Garage Door Manual Release Lock
Now that your door is disengaged and you can carefully lift your garage door from the handles located on your door.
Garage door manual release lock. This allows you to manually open and close the garage door. Locate the emergency release kit and insert the appropriate key into the lock socket. A word of warning.
Turn the key and pull the lock tumbler out of the lock to engage the release mechanism on the garage door opener carriage. There will be holes in the vertical track that can be used with a simple padlock. It allows garage access during power outages and other opener failures. To disengage you ll pull the emergency release cord down which will release your garage door from the opener system.
The emergency release cord disconnects the trolley through attachment point from the opener carriage so that the door can slide along the track without the automated carriage. The lock mechanism is installed into a hole on the garage door. It should move smoothly and only require a little force to open and close. Compatible with a wide range of metal or wood garage doors this convenient option is ideal for vaulted garages with no other entry.

Use a key padlock on the vertical track to prevent the door from being opened manually. Manually move the garage door and return to down position.
Drive the car inside the garage and put the garage door down.
