Garage Door Motor Clicking
If this is the case you have likely locked your opener by mistake.
Garage door motor clicking. If the garage door opens correctly but fails to close completely there may be one of three common causes. Other symptoms may also include flashing lights on the remote control opener. If your garage door opener is clicking it is probably also flashing a light on and off. Worn gears inside the garage door opener s motor unit can make grinding or buzzing noises. Take the door opener motor out of the mounting bracket and put it aside gently.
A lot of homeowners will accidentally put their opener into lock mode by sliding a switch or holding a lock button too long on the wall control station. The garage door opener may be making clicking noises as a result of the security lock. Garage door won t close all the way. On some systems the garage door opener installed on the wall will override commands from the remote control opener and the system must be unlocked from the wall pad.
The close limit switch may need adjusting.
