Garage Door Opener Chain Not Moving Motor Running
If the chain or belt moves then the opener motor is ok and the problem is probably at the emergency release.

If the cord has accidentally or purposely been pulled the automatic door opener will not work until the chain is re engaged. Automatic garage door opener runs but door doesn t move. Turn them to clockwise to max and try again. Before you go to the extreme of replacing the opener or buying parts try cleaning the switch contacts.
The motor will run but will not move the chain. This is an easy fix. If the motor hums but the chain doesn t move that indicates a problem with the motor. This causes the motor to run for an extensive period of time before it seems to timeout and give up.
The motor will start and stop in response to button pushes like it is supposed to normally the first push starts it in one direction the 2nd reverses the direction and the 3rd will stop the motor. Do you have an older chain drive garage door opener and the motor no longer automatically stops when the door is at the fully open or closed position keeps running until the timer or thermal cutout stops it. This process varies by manufacturer and model but many openers can be re engaged by pulling the emergency cord a second time. The motor should be driving a chain or belt.
When we push the open button the motor runs and makes sound by the chain that opens the door does not move. If this fixes the problem then oil the door and turn the screws back down until it no longer opens and closes and then turn 1 8th back up. 3 if the chain still doesn t move check the force settings on the motor head.
