Genie Garage Door Lights Wont Turn Off

Genie garage door lights wont turn off. Make sure the carriage is engaged. It is simple to put a board in. If the screw inside the rail us turning and the carraige is engaged but the door is not moving replace the carriage. Try to cover every aspect potentially contributing to the trouble and you ll find many solutions.

Then reconnect the opener. The clicking noise you are looking for is the sound that comes from the relay on the circuit board. Several days ago it started not to turn off lights and i had to push the light on off button on the wall console to manually turn them off. Doing so will reset it but don t abuse this tip.

After 90 seconds reconnect the power and see if the lights come on. If you are standing behind the opener looking towards the door the board will be on the top left side. Disconnect the unit power. If you do not hear a click coming from the motor housing then the relay on the circuit board is bad.

The circuit board on your garage door opener will have to be replaced if you want your light to function properly. The only way to fix it is to put a board in it. If your genie garage door light will not switch off it could be a problem with the wiring or hardware. Step 1 remove the indoor control panel from the wall and use a philips head screwdriver to disconnect and reconnect the wiring.
